With 6 adorable animals on each card, Spot it Jr.! Animals is the ideal matching game for kids under 7. As always, there is one, and only one, matching animal between any 2 cards. Little ones will love matching over 30 colorful animals and making all their sounds! Spot it Jr.! is a fun way to sharpen kids’ cognitive speed and visual perception skills. The variety of images will challenge all ages.
BGG Becky Pusch:"I rated this a 8 for playing with a mixed group of children and adults, maybe a 9 for just a group of kids, for adults alone, it might be fun as a way to select first player or something.... This game is fast paced (2-3 minutes per round, a single round could be a complete game, or you can keep going). My 3 year old and 6 year old can play and hold their own as long as the adults aren't being ultra competitive.
Most kids games are almost entirely luck based (Candyland, Chutes & ladders, etc) and the adult feels like a trained monkey could play so its not much fun for the adult. Or you try to play a more complex game, which is usually too complex for kids to win unless the adult throws the game. This game is about matching pictures, all that matters is how fast do your eyes, brain, mouth and hands work together. In general adults are probably better at it, but not by such a margin that the kids aren't in the game.
I don't have to compromise my integrity (too much) to give my kids a fair chance to win, they love it, and even adults can get into the spirit of the game. "

My First Games' Pamela Tan:"Spot It Junior is the simplified version of Spot It! in the following ways (1) it has lesser cards, 31 versus 55 cards (2) the pictures are all cartoon animals instead of random symbols (3) There are only six pictures on each card instead of eight. All this help to make the game a little easier for the very young kids. In our experience, kids as young as 3 years old can play this excellent game. If you need to further adjust for handicap, you can distribute the cards, and give the younger children lesser cards than the older children and/or adults.
BGG Jonathan Takagi:"Spot It the base game is unique in that both adults and kids can play. With fewer symbols on the cards this is definitely more for kids and not challenging enough for adults. But if you own Spot It and it's too hard for your kids, I suppose Spot It Jr would be a good way to get them ready."
