Publisher's Game Description: Frederic is a really pesky frog! What he likes most is to tease the little bees as they fly across his pond. With his magnetic sticky tongue he catches the busy nectar gathering animals. Which smart bee, with some luck and tactical thinking, will sneak past the frog?
BGG Doug Garrett:"How can you NOT love a game that has as its central mechanism a giant frog that spins around the middle of the board with its magnetic tongue sticking out? OK, it's a kids' game and a roll and move race, but it's fun for quick late-night or between-games play."
BGG Dea Draper:"A little repetitive, but a HABA game well worth the money. The theme is well carried out, the game is very well made, and the components invite play. The bees are excellent and the idea of collecting honey drops on the flowers before the frog catches the bees is clever. The magnet mechanic of the catch works very well. A child might get upset at getting caught by the frog except that after collecting the honey drop it is a short cut to getting back to the hive and on the way to collecting another drop. So the children learn when and when not to be caught. They have the ability to avoid being caught by landing on a stone, out of reach of the frog's long tongue."
Reviews & Comments:
BGG Nick Fisk:"There's a circular track for the bees (with magnetic tops) to walk around. The frog is in the centre with a magnet under his tongue, which sticks out the same distance as the circular track. After the bees move, the frog is turned to the next colour rolled on a colour-die (I think). Opposite their staring point (hive) is a flower (with the honey on it). If the bees reach the flower, they move one of the honey drops to their hive and start again. There are "safe" spaces around the track which are out of reach from the frog, so bees can spend a turn and hide that way. 3.5yo I know that has it loves it"
